Your One-Stop Solution for Comprehensive Vessel Performance and Decarbonisation Goals
Every vessel is important to us in terms of performance and energy efficiency. We have a dedicated Fleet Performance Centre including a Fleet Monitoring Centre to improve the efficiency of our clients' fleet through a holistic approach including:
The BSM FPC is our dedicated department focusing on optimising vessel operations, improving voyage efficiency and environmental performance & compliance while cutting OPEX, manual reporting and performance claims.
The FPC team works closely with all BSM fleet teams to improve the performance of each vessel in a systematic manner. Through a vessel performance analysis and rating process, BSM aims to address all relevant actions for performance improvement.
As part of our FPC, the Fleet Monitoring Centre continuously monitors vessel operations and compliance. This state-of-the-art facility is supported by nautical and technical experts, and fleet performance analysts.
The FMC offers decision support to crew, technical staff on shore and keeping the vessels operational. A dedicated fleet performance team models ships and builds a unique digital twin that enables comparison of ships’ actual performance to its ideal performance.
The FMC acts as a central support team for BSM fleet teams by aiming to improve the navigational and commercial aspects of vessels through three key areas:
BSM has developed an Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) calculator to compute the required and attained EEXI values, allowing us to classify the fleet into compliant and non-compliant vessels.
Through our fleet-wide digital twin database, BSM guides clients with non-compliant vessels with solutions to address compliance gaps.
We help ship owners achieve Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) compliance through holistic vessel performance monitoring, combined with advanced analytics and software.
We are committed to play our part in global carbon reduction efforts. BSM firmly believes maximal fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions will provide a competitive advantage for our clients, especially in the charter market. Therefore, we decided to go beyond CII regulations and set our own goals for CII performance.
The inclusion of the maritime sector into the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) is a done deal and will be introduced from 2024. Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) is developing solutions to help clients navigate the complexities of the upcoming requirements and ensure a smooth transition into EU ETS.
The CII performance of each voyage carried out by our BSM full managed vessels will be monitored and reported in our smartPAL system.
BSM's FPC monitors vessel reports, ensuring data quality and giving feedback to fleet teams about their vessels' performance through recurring monthly interactive meetings.
In addition, FPC investigates the causes of fuel overconsumption and supports the fleet teams in improving the CII ratings of the fleet in the process.
BSM’s Smart Maintenance (SM) project has been initiated to increase crew safety, asset reliability and lifetime, reduce OPEX, increase Time Between Overhauls (TBOs) and availability of spare parts. This is done by using state-of-the-art technologies such as vibration analysis, drain oil analysis, smart glasses, Artificial Intelligence (AI), machinery fault detection techniques, maintenance process monitoring tools, but also class notations and collaboration with original equipment manufacturers (OEM).
We manage all technical and crewing aspects of our full management vessels aiming to ensure safe and efficient operations
