The Maritime Training Centre (MTC) of BSM in Gdynia, Poland, has signed a strategic training partnership agreement with WinGD a leading marine technology developer in twostroke diesel and dualfuel engines. With this agreement, BSM is now officially accredited to deliver the full WinGD engines training portfolio, strengthening advanced seafarer education across Central and Eastern Europe – a region that plays a key role in BSM’s global crewing strategy.

“This partnership enables us to provide WinGDcertified training courses to our own crews and external seafarers. Additionally, it will also allow us to deliver BSM standard engine room training courses like Engine Management Course and Engine Room Resource Management Course providing convenient solution for European seafarers,” says Capt. Gurpreet Singh, Group General Manager, Training and Development at BSM. “With this step, we significantly expand access to highquality, manufacturerapproved engine training in this region.”

Stateoftheart Full Mission Engine Room Simulation

A WinGD Full Mission Engine Room Simulator, equipped with virtual-reality technology, was recently installed at MTC Poland to conduct the training sessions. It integrates WinGD’s engine room technology, enabling realistic onboard scenarios on real hardware consoles and high-quality 3D presentation for a wide range of diesel and dualfuel engines.

BSM’s investment ensures that sea personnel receive standardised, high-quality training, and practise reallife operational scenarios, troubleshooting routines and advanced procedures under realistic conditions.

Preparing for the future of alternative fuels

Reflecting the industry’s transition towards low and zerocarbon solutions, BSM will further expand its WinGD training offering. From Q4 2026, simulatorbased courses for dual-fuel methanol will be introduced, followed by dual-fuel ammonia engines in Q2 2027, ensuring crews are prepared for nextgeneration alternative fuel technologies.

The strategic partnership reinforces BSM’s commitment to delivering manufacturerapproved, futurefocused technical training and positions the MTC Poland as a key hub for WinGD engine education in the region. By combining advanced simulation technology with expert instruction, BSM continues to support shipowners, operators and crews in maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency and operational excellence.
