Course Description

The course aims to provide the knowledge necessary for seafarers with Security functions designated in the Ship Security Plan, to perform their functions in accordance with the requirements of SOLAS Chapter XI-2 as amended, the ISPS Code, and section A-VI/6 paragraph 6-8, and Table A-VI/6-2, of the STCW Code, as amended.

Course Content

On successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Familiarize with relevant international and government legislation and regulations about security of the maritime transportation industry.
  • Understand the Security Responsibilities related to Port, Company and Personal
  • Understand security levels, security report procedures
  • Familiarize with the security equipment and security alarm and drill
  • Recognitions of security threats and risks, such as piracy and armed robbery, terrorism, and contraband smuggling. Stowaways and refuges, cargo theft, collateral damage
  • Familiarize with security response action and anti-piracy measures
