What personal data do we collect?

The information we collect for marketing purposes is your name and surname, company name, email, phone, country and job title. We also track opening and/or click rates of the newsletter that we send out.

How do we collect this information?

We collect this information through your subscription to our newsletters via our website you have shared with us. Opening and click rates are collected via tracking pixel, token links and/or web beacons.

Why do we collect this information?

We will use the information to send you BSM material related to the topics of interest you have subscribed to.

The purpose of collecting your company name is to optimise the content we share.

The purpose of collecting your phone number is to potentially send you material via SMS that is relevant to the topic selection that you have consented to.

We will also monitor the open and click rates of the information we sent you in order to gain insights about the reception of the information BSM provides and to enable BSM to optimise the content we share.

In case we need to use your information provided for any other purpose, we would obtain your prior consent.

What do we do with your information?

Your information is stored in our database and is not shared with any third parties outside the Schulte Group. For more information on international transfers of data please contact the Privacy Team.

How long do we keep your information for?

We keep your personal data only as long as you continue to consent to receive BSM related news from us through email or post.

Your rights over your information

By law, you can ask us to complete the following actions:

  • Provide you with a copy of your information
  • Correct your information if it is inaccurate
  • Under certain preconditions, erase your information permanently or to restrict our processing

You may contact us at marketing@bs-shipmanagement.com for any of the above actions and we will reply to your request within one week.

You can also ask us to stop sending you BSM related news; the simplest way to do this is by withdrawing your consent, which you can do at any time, by clicking the unsubscribe link at the end of any marketing communication email.

Once we receive your request, we will update your profile within one week to ensure that you do not receive any BSM related news from us.

Once you have unsubscribed from all topics, we will continue to store your email address as well as information to the consent you provided and your unsubscription for a duration of 6 months in order to be able to substantiate consent was previously granted and that we properly processed your unsubscription. After this period your personal data will be erased from our database to the extent it exclusively relates to your subscription.

Your right to complain

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, if you feel our processing of your personal data is unlawful.
