Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM), the global leading ship manager, has boosted its senior management team with the appointment of two new Managing Directors in Germany and Singapore.

Nick Topham (pictured left) will head BSM Germany based in Hamburg and Raymond Peter (pictured right) will be his BSM Singapore counterpart.

Nick has extensive leadership experience of 20 years in the shipping industry, gained through senior roles at MPC Steamship, Ahrenkiel Steamship and Borealis Maritime Ltd, prior to joining BSM. He is a qualified Marine Engineer with many years of sea going experience and specialises in the field of containerships, bulk carriers and chemical tankers.

“It’s a pleasure and privilege to be given the opportunity to work for BSM. It is a company that I have long respected and have worked with on the customer side over the last two years. I look forward to sharing my experience, working closely with our German business partners and support in taking BSM Germany to the next level,” Nick said.

Raymond has been in the shipping industry for over 32 years, including 13 years at sea. He is experienced in the management of oil and chemical tankers, bulk carriers, containerships, gas and offshore vessels. Prior to joining BSM Singapore, he served ABS, IMC and V.Ships in various senior positions. Raymond is an active member of various committees, such as ABS Class, Lloyds Register and Intertanko, and chairs the DNV-GL Asia Pacific Container Committee.

Raymond emphasized, “Both our sea and shore-based personnel are our most valuable assets. In my new role, I would like to lead BSM Singapore by example, through visible leadership and a working culture of honour and respect, to empower individuals take responsibility to the best of their ability.
