BSM- India organised a fleet officers meet at its Mumbai office on 7th July 2009 as part of its efforts to increase awareness about Navigational issues and further as a special initiative to support our Back to Basic campaign.

 

The seminar was of three hours duration between 2PM to 5 PM and was attended by 55 BSM deck and engineering officers (including 2 cadets) presently on leave in and around Mumbai.

 

Mr. B. N. Prasad ,Managing Director of BSM India , welcomed the officers and advised about the need to be more vigilant and careful during their stay on board ships particularly during watch keeping. He briefly explained the reasons behind conducting the present seminar including the importance of going back to basics.

 

Special care was taken to ensure that the meet was interactive and participants were encouraged to discuss about various issues of concern to them .

 

All the presentations were of high standard and well appreciated by the audience.

 

Mr. Prasad, in his concluding remarks ,summed up the salient points discussed during the meet and thanked all the participants, presenters and organizers. He requested all the participants to share the knowledge gained with other colleagues on their next ship.
