MV LONG BEACH BRIDGE
The Green Flag Programme began awarding Green Flags for vessels achieving a 100% compliance level in 2005. To date, the programme has given Green Flags to vessels achieving a 100% compliance level in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The MV LONG BEACH BRIDGE (under the full management of BSM China) has earned a Green Flag for the third consecutive year since the Programme’s inception. There was not one particular vessel to earn the first Green Flag; however, the MV LONG BEACH BRIDGE was one of approximately 340 vessels to earn one of the first Green Flags sent to vessel operators.
The Green Flag Programme now distributes more than 600 Green Flags annually, and the increase in participation and awareness of the Green Flag Programme can be partially attributed to the efforts made by the first vessel crews, operators, management and ownership in 2005.
The Port of Long Beach has recognized the MV LONG BEACH BRIDGE for its perfect record and we are looking forward to honoring her again in the upcoming years. The overall compliance level for April 2008 was 93.06%. Thanks in large part to the compliance level of vessels like the MV LONG BEACH BRIDGE, the Green Flag Programme has been a great success. The Programme’s accomplishments as such, mean that its efforts have helped reduce air emissions in the Southern California Basin – an achievement to be highly commended.
