BSM has a new Group HR (Marine) Director

Mr Arvind Sharma, previously BSM Group Management Director for Value Added Services, has taken office as Group HR (Marine) Director.

 

Mr Sharma looks back on a long career on board and ashore. He graduated with a degree in Marine Engineering in Calcutta in 1977 and holds an MBA from the University of Hull, UK. For 13 years he worked on board ships, mostly bulk carriers and tankers, the last 3 of them as Chief Engineer. In 1990 Mr Sharma joined the Eurasia Group of Companies as Superintendent and later became Technical Manager. He was promoted to General Manager in 1998 and was responsible for setting up a new Eurasia ship management office in Singapore. Two years later he went to Hong Kong as Joint Managing Director and Group Vice President, supervising the fleet operations of the Eurasia Group of Companies. Recently Mr Sharma moved to UK to establish a business development and project office for Eurasia in London.

 

Mr Sharma is looking forward to tackling his new job: ”The recruitment of seafarers is currently the most challenging task in the Group.
