With a fleet as large and diverse as the one managed by Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement Group, marine training is of the utmost importance in ensuring that our people are best prepared to meet the highest and latest international standards of seamanship and engineering skills. We are continuously investing time and money in increasing the competence of our staff onboard and ashore.
Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement has its own unique, multifaceted network consisting of various international Maritime Training Centres in all our key recruitment countries. Our training policy is to ensure that all persons employed are trained to be highly competent in the duties they perform and are made aware of the importance of achieving quality awareness at all times. To this end, various training courses are used by the company so that these values may be maintained in line with the company policy.
We are convinced that training is not only a great opportunity to enhance career possibilities within the company, but guarantees our clients a portfolio of qualified, ambitious and well-trained seafarers meeting the most demanding crewing requirements. Employees are encouraged to undertake further training and/or education which leads to qualifications relevant to their employment. Financial assistance may be offered by the company to employees keen to enhance their continuous professional development (CPD).
Our quality training system based on continuous improvement comprises a progressive mix of internal and external seminars, workshops for officers and ratings, safety drills and onboard training. Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement provides training on maritime simulators as well as chemical and gas safety courses in international training facilities and our own Crew Service Centres and Marine Training Centres. The latest technologies, well-equipped training centres and a variety of high-quality seminars (internal and external, in-house and onboard) and above all motivated and capable seafarers mirror our commitment to high-quality training.
Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement recruits cadets from selected and approved maritime academies all over the world. Subject to acceptable performance, the company financially supports their studies and provides them with extensive training onboard diverse vessels so that all may reach their full potential. Highly experienced and qualified instructors train our seafarers to meet the industry’s high quality standards in well-equipped, in-house seminar rooms at our state-of-the art onboard training and marine training centres.

It is our aim to constantly expand our pool of qualified Junior Officers to cover the need for personnel and to meet our clients’ requirements.
