Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement manages a large fleet of container vessels from its worldwide fleet management offices in Europe, India and South East Asia. Our global presence allows us to manage container tonnage trading on worldwide liner routes and to serve our principals in multiple time zones in a timely and cost-effective manner.

The vessels managed by the Group range from small container feeders to the largest super post-Panamax container vessels. 

Having managed container tonnage for over 25 years we are acutely aware of the numerous challenges involved in the safe and prompt delivery of container cargoes. Changing circumstances have greatly enhanced the risks faced by container operators worldwide and Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement has been happy to rise to the challenges of our times.

In order to facilitate this we continuously monitor and improve our performance in relation to vital Key Performance Indicators for container vessel management, benchmarking ourselves against industry-best standards in our area of operation.

We maintain a strong pool of container-experienced officers and ratings from diverse nationalities, thereby providing flexible and reliable crewing options to our principals. Our officers and ratings are rigorously trained in the latest technologies and practices for the safe carriage of containers at our Group’s own training facilities. In addition to receiving basic training in container vessel operation, our seafarers also participate in our ongoing training programmes which provide value-added and enhanced courses at numerous facilities worldwide.

Our seafarers are continuously monitored, guided, coached and mentored by our highly trained and experienced Technical and Marine Superintendents, who bring years of specialist experience to the job and are supported by a capable and robust support infrastructure ashore.

The management services rendered by Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement to our container-vessel owning principals include crew management, technical management, commercial management, insurance placement and claims handling.
