GROUP IT DIRECTOR:
MR. RASTISLAV BELCIK

Mr. Rastislav Belcik was born in Zilina, Slovakia. He has graduated at Slovak Technical University, Division of Digital Computer in 1986 and obtained his Master of Science in this field. He started his professional carrier as programmer with the Research Institute of Social-Economic Information and Management Automation and was working on projects for the Federal Institute of Statistics of Slovak Republic until he moved to Cyprus in 1989.

In February 1991, he joined Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (Cyprus) Ltd, formerly known as Hanseatic Shipping Co. Ltd, as a Computer Consultant Analyst. Rasto was involved in the in-house development of tailor-made software, whilst at the same time giving support to company users. In 1992, he was promoted to IT Manager responsible for the general computerization of the company. He was also responsible for other ex Hanseatic Shipping sister companies and helped with the computerization of the ex Hanseatic Agencies.

 
As far as his professional activities are concerned, Rasto Belcik was a member of the board of directors of the Oracle User Group in Cyprus between 1994 and 1999. In addition, he also supported the European, Middle East and Africa Oracle Users Group (EOUG). Rasto also participated in Paper Selection committee for conferences organized by the EOUG.


In January 2008, Mr. Belcik was appointed as IT Group Director with overall responsibilities for the Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement IT system.
