MR. PAUL VARNAVAS

Pavlos Varnavas, a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, joined Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (Cyprus) Ltd, formerly Hanseatic Shipping Co. Ltd, in 1988 as the Assistant to the Financial Director, following the completion of his studies in the United Kingdom. There, he obtained by professional accounting qualification of ACCA. Pavlos was promoted to Financial Director in 1998. Over his 20 years service to the Schulte Group, he has been involved in all financial affairs of the ship owning and ship management operations, including financial management, financial reporting, management accounting, cost control, tax management and ships’ financing.

Pavlos has the overall financial control of BSM (Cyprus), as well as its subsidiary and associated companies in Cyprus and abroad. Under his new position as group Financial Director and together with the remaining team working under the group Chief Financial Officer, we will face the challenge to secure efficient financial operations and controls within the shipmanagement companies of the BSM group.

Emphasis will be placed on internal control systems, cost control, implementation of group financial policies and strategies, and management reporting. We envisage making the BSM group even more profitable and financially sound.
