GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR OIL, PRODUCT, CHEMICAL TANKERS, OTHER VESSELS: MR. HOLGER PITTELKAU

Mr. Pittelkau started his seagoing career in 1976 with the German Navy and joined Bernhard Schulte in January 1983 as Deck Officer, where he sailed on LPG vessels. After having obtained his Master’s ticket in 1988 he came ashore in 1989, to supervise coating works on newbuildings in the following year, as well as repair works in several shipyards in Germany.

Mr. Pittelkau joined Hanseatic Shipping in 1990 as Technical Assistant. From 1991 to 1996, as Technical Superintendent, he was essentially in charge of all vessel types: general cargo, container, bulker and tanker. In January 1996 he joined Hanseatic’s management team, where he now holds the post of Managing Director at Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement.

Together with the Group Fleet Directors Arthur Redpath and Arthur McWhinnie and their team of experienced and dedicated staff he oversees the safe and efficient operation of all oil, product and chemical tankers for Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement. As a team they work with the Service Delivery Centres (that execute the operational management of a vessel) and of course the onboard officers and crew. Loss prevention and environmental protection are the team’s highest priorities.
