Arvind Sharma

Director - Loss Prevention and HR (Marine)

Mr. Sharma graduated with a degree in Marine Engineering from Calcutta in 1977 and holds an MBA from the University of Hull, UK. He worked 13 years onboard, mostly with a Norwegian company on their bulk carriers and tankers, serving the last three years as Chief Engineer.

After joining the Eurasia Group in Hong Kong in 1990 as Superintendent, he has held positions of increasing responsibility, first as a Technical Manager and then taking over responsibility for the fleet.

Mr. Sharma was promoted to General Manager in 1998 and given the responsibility to establish Eurasia's presence in Southeast Asia and to set up a new shipmanagement office in Singapore.

After spending two very successful years in the region he moved to Hong Kong as Joint Managing Director and Group Vice President, overseeing full fleet operations for the Eurasia Group of companies.

In January, 2008 he was appointed as  Director of Loss Prevention and HR (Marine) of the BSM Group.

Mr. Sharma has played a key role in Eurasia's growth over the last 17 years and has led the company's business development initiatives in the various European & Asian markets at different times. He has extensive experience in all aspects of technical shipmanagement and under his supervision the fleet has grown from 15 vessels in 1990 to over 125 vessels today. In addition to his corporate responsibilities he represents Eurasia on the Intertanko Human Element Committee and International Managers' Executive Committee.
